The Year 2003
The Parish Church of St. Swithun is one of
the most significant and beautiful buildings in East Grinstead.
It has stood at the centre of our town for over 200 years and there has been
a Church on the site for a 1000 years.
An appeal for funds has been launched -
£100000 needed to urgently repair the Tower Pinnacles, the Clock Face
and the Louvres in the Bell Tower.

The Year 2005 ?
The appeal for funds was not supported.
Due to safety reasons the Tower Pinnacles were removed, the Clock Face taken
away and the Louvres in the Bell Tower Chambers filled in. Don’t let it
happen – please support the Appeal.
